The Kittrell Job Corps Center had nine students who officially became Grad-90 students on July 21. To be eligible for Grad-90, students must be at least 65% – 70% complete in their trade, high school diploma and TABE. Students enter the CTR class and begin working on their career plans, future goals, transitional support service needs and contact their CTS. Students are then required to articulate their plans by preparing a Power Point presentation that they must present to Counselors, Management Staff, Directors and their Mentors.

For this presentation, students are required to dress professionally and treat this as an interview. The panel asked questions at the end, just as if they are being interviewed. If students are able to successfully articulate their goals and their plans to achieve them, they are accepted into Grad-90 and a projected separation month is given to them. “ My dreams came to reality by completing my goals through the Kittrell Job Corps Center program. I plan to enlist into the US Army by November 2016,” said Marquan Harris Brick Masonry student .

Approximately 40 students have entered the Grad-90 program since this process began in May 2016. These students will be recognized at the next student business meeting and receive their Grad-90 Certificate. One student from each group is selected to present their plan to the student body during the business meeting.

This has been an opportunity for students to show what they have  accomplished in the program so far. They are taking pride in their achievements and their plans for their future.
